Journey Into The Lion's Den

This has nothing to do with whitetails, or even hunting for that matter. But I just wanted to tell you about my "journey into the lion's den" this week. As a police officer in Colorado Springs, I have the opportunity to do things only a handful of people do, and this week was no different. When the Democratic National Convention announced it would be coming to Denver, and the Denver Police Department would need assistance from surrounding police agencies, I knew I would be rubbing elbows with some of our nations left-leaning leaders.
Let me be clear, I'm NOT a Democrat, but I'm somewhat of a political junkie and I knew this would no doubt be a great opportunity, and it truly was. I talked with some super nice and gracious folks, and even met a handful of our nations Democrat leaders, but after all the flag waiving, great speeches, contagious-like atmosphere and 15-hour days were over, my conservative roots and beliefs are still in tact. It is safe to say that I didn't drink the kool-aid!
While there I did have the privilege to meet some of my Fox News favorites like Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Brit Hume, Bill Kristol and Fred Barns, as well as radio talk show hosts Laura Ingraham, Dennis Prager and Mike Gallagher. I even shook hands with President Bush's chief political advisor Karl Rove, which was also an honor. All were so nice and willing to spend time with me. Here is a taste of what I saw and who I was privileged to meet.

What a great week it was for this bow-toting political junkie, now lets get back to whitetails!
