So Where Did It Come From?

Sorry Vikings. But this buck may be a Cheesehead.

So here's a funny story. I emailed buddy Jake, our esteemed Realtree Whitetail Team Leader and all-around good guy, about a whopper buck photo I had just received via email. A true Wisconsin giant that grossed well over 200 inches and had an incredible weight over 300 pounds.

He said "blog it man" and I did. Then I happened to check out Jake's post from earlier today. Anyone notice any similarities? My "source" claims this buck was taken in Wisconsin. But did it really come from Minnesota?

Anyone got any clues out there?

Just wanted to take a second here and say hi. My name is Ben and I am the one who shot it. I have been quite entertained by different sites I have visited and things I have seen and heard. I shot this deer in Mn, not Wisconsin, although only a few miles from Wisconsin. By all means, find another source, yours is worthless. Its been an interesting ride, from the critics to the real hunters who give credit where credit is due, but I don't mind. This deer has earned the respect he deserves well above me, the shot placement not the best, he died fast though, and was moving just as I shot, one of those things. He busted me at the last second. I saw the hit and knew he was dead, but lack of blood made it tough. Thanks and have a good one and good luck out there!
Hey Ben,

Thanks for clearing it up. Rumors are always rampant in cyberworld. Congrats on a tremendous deer. As for shot placement, call me crazy but I'll take quartering away any day! The smack was laid. Nuff said. Great deer.
