It Never Really Ends
Just today I headed to a chuck of ground in eastern Colorado to do a little looking around since I might have access to hunt there this fall, that is if I draw a tag. It wasn't that bad at first, in fact, it was looking promising. I ran across good numbers of buck tracks, some great rubs and managed to find what appeared to be a couple of old scraps. However, in the blink of an eye the weather went from good to bad to worse to horrible, and before I knew it, I was in a blizzard, literally! I was being pounded with heavy, golf ball sized flakes, and it was blowing sideways.
What was bad about the whole scenario is that I knew there was a good chance that I might get dumped on. In fact, according to our local weather talking heads, this storm was coming and there was nothing anyone could do to stop it. But when you're addicted to chasing whitetails, you tend to justify your decisions--both good and bad ones. I told myself I was only going to be out there a couple of hours, and besides, it seems our weather guys are more wrong than they are right! Not this time however, they hit the nail on the head!
The good news is, I did make it out all right and even managed to stumble across a solid 60 inch, 4-point shed in the process. Would I do it again? Probably! Because when it comes down to it, for guys like us the season never really ends!

Until next time,
Brian
