Buck, Buck, Deer
An example. I headed back down to Ohio this past weekend to try and finish a hunt my son and I started two weeks ago. The gobblers still refused to play nice and let my son tag one of them as his first. But we had fun trying.
What struck me was that as much as we were hunting turkeys, I found myself looking for funnels and stand sites. Ohio is one of my favorite whitetail states. Mostly because it's close to home, but also because it has some outstanding deer. So as we trekked all over the countryside, trying to find a gobbling bird, I found myself wondering just how each hollow would hunt in November.
I love turkey hunting. And perhaps, because this has been one of the worst springs I've ever seen in terms of gobbling, this is simply a phase.
But right now, there's just one thing I want to do: Make November come tomorrow.
