It's July...

So let's talk about Michael Jackson's death and Sarah Palin's resignation...kidding, kidding. July is the unofficial beginning of bow season for many, and I'll be confining my posts to that very topic around here for now. Although I've been busy since turkey season ended with such things as crappie fishing and noodling catfish, I've got buddies e-mailing deer cam pictures and videos every week, and judging by the antler growth I'm seeing, I better dust off my bow case and do some shooting. I haven't unsnapped the latches since early March when I went pig hunting in Florida, but I definitely need to get it out soon, re-fletch some arrows, check over my string, sharpen broadheads and just spend some time making the target slap. It's time to fire up the old tractor for some fall foodplot work as well.

Among the more amusing trailcam videos I've gotten this year is this one of a doe. Evidently she's concerned about ending up on the Internet. My buddy has been a little worried about his trailcams spooking deer, but he says most of the other deer he's captured on his cameras seem to have paid little attention to them.
